FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - Bags

Are all of your bags safe for food contact?
Yes. All of the core films that our bags are manufactured from are made using FDA approved resins.

What is the advantage of using microperforated bags for bread packaging?
The advantages of microperforations are most obvious on “Crusty” breads. These types of breads must "breathe" or expel heat and moisture when removed from the oven. If you place a crusty bread in a non-perforated plastic bag, it will get soft and soggy.

How much longer is the shelf life of the "crusty" bread increased in a microperforated bag?
Microperforated packaging of crusty breads and baked goods will increase the shelf life anywhere from 2 - 4 times that of a non-perforated plastic or poly bag.

What are the advantages of microperforated bags versus paper bags?
Unlike paper bags, with our microperforated bags, you can seal both ends and still be able to fully view and inspect the contents of the package. The clear thin film allows you to not only see inside the bag but also enables you to feel the crust. Furthermore, the cost of printed microperforated bags is notably lower than paper/plastic composite bags and more effective against dust, dirt and water.

What is the typical lead-time on bags?
For all stock merchandise, items ordered before 10am ET will be shipped the same day. For all custom or printed orders, the initial lead-time will be 6-8 weeks from time or order.

Can I have a custom print on my bag?
Yes. We can print on the film before converting it into the bag. For a full description of our printing capabilities, make sure to visit the printing section of the site.

What is the minimum order size?
The minimum order for all stock items is 1 case. All custom orders have a minimum of 100,000 bags.

What does the bottom seal of a MôrClear™ bag look like?
We offer two types of seals on our side gusseted bags. A standard crimp seal (left) and a more durable folded bottom seal (right).

Is a crimp bottom MôrClear™ as durable and strong as a foldover bottom?
No. A foldover bottom is considerably stronger than a crimp bottom bag. However for a majority of possible application, the strength of a crimp bottom bag is sufficient.

How much is shipping and handling?
For all orders in excess of 100 cases, shipping and handling is included in the price. For all other orders, shipping costs will incur and vary based on order size, location, and shipping method required.

What bags do you keep in inventory in the US?
We keep approximately 60 different styles and sizes of bags in inventory. A complete list can be found under the inventory listing.
